 Read Chapter 4 Active Circuits The concept of linear dependent sources as discussed in Section 4-1 through Exercise 4-1 and page 171, plus the concept of the ideal operational amplifier with a feedback network as discussed in Sections 4-4 and 4-5, pages 186 through Figure 4-40, page 203 are the only parts of this chapter you be held accountable for.

Examination #1:

Wednesday, September 27 – Review for Exam & lecture

Friday, September 29 - scheduled 50 minute class period. Exam will be in classroom.

 Closed Book, 4 pages of notes not to include copies of old exams or homework problems.  It will include material covered in:

 Appendices A and B

Chapter 1 Basic Concepts (Voltage, Current, Charge, Dependent and Independent Sources, Power and Energy)

Chapter 2 Basic Laws (Element and connection constraints, KVL, KCL, equivalent circuits (series, parallel) voltage and current division, circuit reduction, solution of simple circuits.)

Chapter 3 Methods of Analysis (Node-Voltage and Mesh-Current methods)

Chapter 4 Circuit Theorems (proportionality, superposition, Thevenin and Norton equivalents, maximum power)
